Clubs
Extracurricular activities are considered to be a veryimportant part of the school's program. In order to be eligible forparticipation, students must maintain passing grades and demonstrateappropriate behavior. Students are encouraged to participate in thefollowing activities:
Academic Team:
The Academic Club is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who enjoy academic challenges. The club will meet monthly.  Contact Mr. Krupp (Ext. 4549) or Ms. Riordan (Ext. 4553) for more information.

DDE Ninjas:
DDE Ninjas is a club for any student in grades seventh through eighth who is interested in technology.  Students will learn technology tools and will hold mini-workshops during study period to teach other students.

STEAM Club:
This year STEAM Club will be meeting on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month.  Our first few projects will involve designing and building a variety of rockets.  Please see Mrs. Campion for more information.

Chess Club:
Play chess and learn strategy from top ranked chess instructor, Mr. Jim Mullanaphy.  Session II will be held on Monday evenings (6:30 - 7:30 PM) from May 5th to June16th in the Media Center.  There will be no chess club on May 26th.  Fit Club:
Fit Club aims to introduce various cardiovascular fitness activities to staff and students in hopes of battling the ever increasing obesity issues in the United States. 
Debate Team:
The Debate Team is open to boys and girls who are in sixth, seventh and eighth grade. Meetings shall take place on "TUESDAY" mornings at Eisenhower at 7:30 A.M. Contact Mr. Krupp (Ext. 4549) for more information.

Drama Club:
The DDE Drama Club is open to all students interested in getting involved with the performing arts. Our season typically runs December - March, culminating with a full scale musical theater production. Whether you want to perform or help out backstage, we invite everyone to come give it a try! Intramural Floor Hockey:
This sport is open to boys and girls in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. Medical Forms are due in no later than the scheduled due date for Fall Sports "over the summer". Additionally, please see Mr. Krupp (Ext. 4549) to obtain a green coaching form, pink concussion form, and more information. We meet "after school" and game play ends at 4:30 P.M.

 FIRE Ball
 An academic team that will compete against other schools in a quiz-style competition on fire science and fire safety topics.  7th graders should watch for information about how to tryout for the team this winter.  For more information, please see Mrs. Campion.

Peer Leadership:
Peer Leadership is open to all 8th grade students who are interested in developing leadership skills as they move on to high school. Peer Leadership emphasizes a commitment to community, ranging from a global perspective to the more local school community. Students will foster a personal commitment to living a healthy life style and promote healthy living to their school peers using outreach programs developed themselves. For the 2016-2017 school year, Peer Leadership will meet on Friday mornings from 7 am - 7:30 am in the STEAM Center.

Student Government:
The Student Government acts to promote the general welfare of the school. Students who are entering eighth grade have the opportunity to run for an executive board position.  Students in grades six, seventh, and eighth have an opportunity to petition the executive board to become a homeroom representative.  The Student Government sponsors various community service projects and promotes school spirit through various activities.  Contact Mr. Krupp (Ext. 4549) or Mrs. Erndl (Ext. 4512) for more information.
